As an internationally active company, we consider it part of our corporate responsibility to contribute to achieving the global goals of sustainable development on an economic, social and ecological level, the so-called UN (United Nations) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We have been reporting voluntarily since 2018 and have published another update of our report in 2022 in accordance with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) reporting standard.

Due to the great importance of sustainability, a lot has now happened in politics and also in society. On July 31, 2023, the European Commission decided to make the ESRS mandatory for all companies subject to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The background to this was that too little progress had been made to date on the European Green Deal.
Due to its business activities, the emco Group is also subject to this new reporting obligation and we are currently preparing to publish a CSRD report for the first time from 2026 for the 2025 financial year.
To this end, a sustainability unit was created in the company directly under the management in 2024 in order to incorporate the existing standard into the new regulatory framework and address the new requirements as a matter of priority.
