EMCO company sport
Company sports in the emco Group at the Lingen site are available in various disciplines.

Health
The emco Group attaches great importance to the health of its employees and would like to maintain and promote well-being in the long term through company health management. There are a number of options for workplace health promotion, such as free medical advice, company sports groups or qualitrain. Occupational safety and health protection as well as operational integration management (BEM) are also established components of the emco Group’s BGM.

Culture
The emco Group is not only well networked economically, with its commitment it also shapes the cultural landscape far beyond the borders of the region. Harald Müller, former managing director and son of the company founder, has received several awards for his social and cultural work. His vision still influences the corporate culture today. Employees of the emco Group benefit, for example, from discounted or even free entry to cultural events.

Region
As a traditional family-run company, the emco Group is closely linked to the region. From the small metal goods factory Erwin Müller KG Lingen, an internationally successful group of companies has developed in just under 75 years, which is present worldwide with four brands and a total of six business areas. More than half of the 1,200 employees work at the company headquarters, in three production plants and in the modern research and development center. The holding company has made a name for itself as an attractive employer and can rely on the support of the city of Lingen in its actions. The motto is: “anchored in Emsland, traveling the world”.

Information
emcopost / emcoboard / emconet
The basic principles of the emco Group include transparent cooperation and open dealings with one another. Platforms such as the intranet emconet, the emcoboard and the employee newspaper emcopost promote exchange among colleagues and optimize work processes. For example, emcopost reports from all areas and departments. Employees can get involved and the management also uses the newspaper to convey information. This is how the communication tools connect the brands and the people of the group of companies.

emcowork&charge
In all three plants at the Lingen site there are charging stations in the parking lots/in the bicycle racks, which employees can use free of charge.

emcoadventurecamp
For the last 6 years, the camp has been held once a year (mainly during the summer holidays) for one week in the houses of the Müller family in Dankern Castle and is free for employees’ children aged 6-14. The care of the children is regulated by the company’s own employees, who are released for this with pay.

Drinking water for free
Since mid-2016, employees at all three locations in Lingen have had free water.

emcoevents
Events are regularly organized for employees of the emco Group, such as B. organizes the summer party or the Christmas party.
Future day
Holding the future day has been a matter of course for the emco Group for years. On this day, the employees’ children have the opportunity to get a taste of working life and get to know the emco Group from the inside.
Trainee rides
Regular trainee trips are always a highlight for the trainees of the emco Group. In addition, these trips are planned by the trainees themselves.
Be it the weekend in Dankern Castle, which is connected to a social project, or the trainee trip to another emco Group location.

Inclusion
In 2014, the emco Group was recognized as an “inclusive company” by the district of Emsland. As a cooperation partner of Christophorus-Werk Lingen e.V., you want to work together on the idea of an inclusive society: Space for experience for professional orientation and qualification should be created for people with disabilities – for example, the emco Group offers suitable internships for people with disabilities and also employs severely disabled people and equivalent employees.

emcowork-life-balance
With flexible working hours and mobile workplaces, the emco Group helps to improve the balance between work and private life. Both topics are regulated in a respective works agreement.

emcofinancial benefits
The offer of a metal pension with an employer contribution is a nice benefit for the employees of the emco Group and has long since become a matter of course. The emco Group’s alignment with the Metallurgical Union and the associated regulations also offer a number of conveniences. A bonus for older workers is the collectively agreed retirement age.

Education
Increased life expectancy and declining birth rates are known emerging changes in our society. In addition, the emco Group faces the challenge of recruiting, retaining and qualifying skilled workers and remaining attractive to older employees. It is therefore important to the emco Group to offer employees the training opportunities they need to optimally fulfill their work tasks. In order to constantly improve, emco has taken part in a certification by the Demography Agency for Business.
Emsland grant
Since 2014, the emco Group has been involved as a sponsor in the “Emsland Scholarship Business Meets Talents” program. This strengthens the close connection between the regional companies and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences on the Lingen campus, and young talents are given the opportunity to complete internships in the sponsoring companies, write their thesis and gain initial operational experience.
IHK top training company
In 2017, the emco Group was recognized as “IHK top training company”. The individual support of the trainees and the proximity to the trainers and training officers on site enables the best possible training. This is how the emco Group gets the skilled workers of the future.

Family friendliness
Emergency care (Ems-Achse)
There can always be situations in which everyday life gets out of hand and the youngsters are suddenly left without care – don’t panic, there is emergency care via the growth region Ems-Axis e.V., of which the emco Group is a member. Through this, a qualified and certified childminder is hired and takes care of the children in the familiar home environment.
Nursing advice (external)
Every family can experience the fact that a close relative needs care and in particular presents working people with the almost impossible task of meeting all demands, whether in the family, in care or at work. Since this topic is very complex and diverse, the emco Group puts employees looking for advice in contact with external advice centers.
Company social counseling (SKM)
Anyone can get into trouble. Despite all the downpours, it is important not to let your head hang down, but to look for a way out – and above all: to accept help.
The SKM offers this help to employees of the emco Group who are looking for advice. The advice is strictly confidential and the offer includes support for problems at work as well as advice for financial difficulties, help in life crises or addiction.

Seal of quality for family friendliness
(Emsland Work and Family Foundation)
Helpful support for employees in balancing family and career has always been a concern of the emco Group. An award as a family-friendly company confirms this commitment. Flexible working hours, part-time models and a holiday camp for employees’ children are just three of the numerous offers from the Emsland company.
