Intensive preparations pay off

Lingen 01.08.2022 – emco France, a subsidiary of the emco Group, has recently expanded its site in Dampierre, France. The emsland-based company has also been active in the east of France since the early 1990s and is further expanding its activities there with the new investment. Under the label “Made in Jura”, around 60 employees produce open entrance mats and swimming pool gratings for French and international customers. The “Twinguard” entrance mats are also produced here and are of great importance for the French market. With the building extension and the integration of new machinery, emco France can expand further here.

As part of the economic development and investment plan, the Hauts-de-France region has subsidised the building extension and creation of new jobs with a considerable sum. “We feel at home and committed where we have a plant,” Christian Gnaß explained at the opening. The CEO and managing partner of the emco Group praised the “flexibility of production, the high motivation of the employees and the management”, which had contributed to developing the French site to such an extent under its own steam. In his speech, Anselme Hoffmann, Managing Director of emco France, once again looked back to the early days: “Who could have imagined in 2002 that we would be so far twenty years later: French market leader for technical entrance mats with approx. 20,000 m² to be produced here in 2021, approx. 7,000 running metres of swimming pool gratings, more than 60 employees, approx. 7 million turnover and numerous projects in the future! I am very proud of this collective achievement, which is thanks to all our employees.” In addition to numerous representatives from politics and business from the Département Jura, but also from Toulouse, Lyon and Grenoble, well-deserved employees – including Pierre Mauffrey, the first employee of emco France and now a pensioner, and Jochen Holzapfel as the initiator of the branch – also attended the opening of the 1,200 m² production hall.
